Termination of MM2H
If an MM2H applicant intends to cancel their MM2H visa and withdraw their Fixed Deposit funds before returning to their home country, they have the option to complete the termination either in Malaysia or from abroad. It is crucial to first check with the bank holding the MM2H Fixed Deposit to confirm whether the funds can be accessed remotely, without needing to visit the branch in person.
We recommend obtaining the name, email address, and contact details of the responsible bank officer to facilitate the withdrawal process, in case the bank requests any additional documentation.
Please be aware that all banks in Malaysia operate under their own private and confidential policies, and third parties, including MM2H agencies or sponsors, cannot interfere with the bank's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). As such, any banking transactions must be managed directly between the applicant and the bank.
Option 1 – Termination in Malaysia
Required Documents for Termination in Malaysia (First Submission)
- Copy of the MM2H Approval Letter.
- Copies of both old and current passports for the principal and all dependants, including:
- Personal particulars pages.
- Latest Malaysian entry stamp pages.
- MM2H visa pages.
Note: If the passport has been renewed, the MM2H visa sticker must be transferred to the new passport before the termination request can be submitted.
- Return flight tickets for the principal and dependants, dated within 4 weeks of the submission date.
- If the principal has passed away, the following documents must be provided:
- Copy of the Death certificate (in Malay or English).
- Copy of the Will or Probate (in Malay or English).
- Copies of the beneficiary’s and executor’s passport particulars pages.
- Copy of the Bank Lien Letter, reflecting the MM2H Fixed Deposit or Time Deposit.
- Bank officer details, including the name, contact information, and email address of the officer responsible for handling the withdrawal at the relevant branch.
All documents must be submitted to us at least 2 days prior to our visit to the MM2H Centre.
The processing time for the extension/claim balance and transfer of sticker at the MM2H Office typically takes 1 working day, with the passport(s) returned to the applicant(s) the following day. However, if there are any system issues at the MM2H Office on the day, the processing time may be delayed by 1 or 2 working days (or longer), which may affect when we can return the passport(s).

If the current MM2H visa is still valid, the applicant(s) must present their passport, with the valid MM2H visa, along with the Approval Letter for Termination of MM2H at the Malaysian Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission in their home country to shorten the MM2H visa.

All required documents must be emailed to us at least 2 days before our second visit to the MM2H Centre.
The second submission at the MM2H Centre takes 1 working day. Once the Termination Letter addressed to the bank is issued, we will send the applicant a scanned copy within 1 or 2 days after our return from the MM2H Centre. The original Termination Letter will be delivered to the designated bank officer during their working hours, approximately 1 or 2 days after our return.
In case of any system issues on the day of submission, we will make another attempt the following day. The applicant will receive the scanned copy of the Termination Letter on the next working day (1 or 2 days after our return from the MM2H Centre), and the original letter will be delivered to the bank officer on the next available working day.
